WHAT IS HYDROPONICS ??

Let's learn,
Hydroponics is the modern method of growing plant species in water with proper nutrition, without planting it into soil. This reduces alot of human efforts with a handsome productivity. While many people associate themselves with this soilless culture. Floating gardens of China and hanging gardens of Babylon are some who have been adopting it since years.

Now let's know how it works. The plants are grown in soilless medium with all the nutrients and fertilizers added into water which baths the root of the plant several times a day. An active hydronic system uses a pump to move water. Many plants like lettuce, cucumber, tomato etc are grown through this.

It got advantages like, plants grown in such medium grows 50% more faster than the plants grown in natural environment. It is easy to handle as it requires no tillage and 24/7 work under the sun. Plants grown are disease n pests free. Reduces soil erosion. Gardeners are benifited as it has no response to harsh climatic conditions ..

Why it is gained less popularity?? It requires high initial investment. High maintenance. Lack of knowledge. Still the ability to grow plants without soil has magical possibilities. NASA has invested considerable time and research into Hydroponics as a possible source of food for astronaut for a long-term space missions...

One Fine Evening - by Satabdi Bedant

One fine evening,  I sat near the window & looked at a fixed gaze into the Nature, I could admire the beauty, The variants of green & blue. But, The sky seemed pale, Like one in pain! As if, She was in grief of someone who was hale and hearty. She screamed loud with thunder & cried bitterly with rain. I could see people breaching the force of her wind to find shelter for selves. But none did wait to ask, “Why are you in pain?”. And that moment was of truth for me to realise,  “Life is a series of Hellos and goodbyes & soon everything shall turn memories …..” This is all that happened, On that fine evening.
